One or more @legal.com email addresses can be licensed by Premium members of the Legal.com Attorney Network. Names are subject to availability; first come, first served.
To preserve the professional reputation of the domain and avoid blocking by other mail services, members with @legal.com email addresses agree to not use Legal.com to send junk email, spam, chain letters or other commercially undesirable communications, or use email lists that contain any addressee(s) that have not specifically agreed to be included on that list.
You agree not to transmit, or allow others to use your address to transmit, through Legal.com, any objectionable material including, but not limited to, unlawful or harassing, libelous, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar or obscene material that encourages conduct that could constitute a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate these Terms of Use.
You understand and agree that Legal.com may terminate your access to this service, including access to any email stored online or email that may or is expected to be in transit, if you fail to maintain an associated Legal.com Attorney Network membership including timely payment of said membership’s fees to Legal.com. If you cancel your Legal.com Attorney Network membership, allow it to expire by not paying any renewal or maintenance fee when billed, or otherwise violate these Terms of Use resulting in termination of your account, you specifically authorize Legal.com to delete your email account(s) and their associated email address(es) (identity(ies)) from its servers, including any email or related files stored thereon. You specifically agree that upon said termination, Legal.com has no obligation to maintain your email account or address (identity), or to save your account including any associated email address(es) for your future use, or store or forward any email associated with your terminated account(s). You further acknowledge that there is no waiting or grace period, and that you authorize Legal.com to immediately reassign any account name (including email address(es)) associated with a terminated account, without notice.
Legal.com does not guarantee that its email service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that bugs or malfunctions will be corrected, or that the service and its servers are free of harmful components. Legal.com does not guarantee that the uses of its service, or the materials provided within the service, are accurate, without error, or reliable.
Legal.com provides its services strictly on an “as is” basis. As provided in Section A above, and to the extent permitted by law, Legal.com excludes all warranties or covenants in regards to the availability, reliability, or timeliness of this service.
Legal.com will not be held responsible for any or all damages whatsoever as a result of the loss of use, data or profits connected to the performance of its email service. The user is solely responsible for any and all information that passes through the email servers.
Legal.com shall not responsible or liable for any content, product or service downloaded, delivered, acquired or requested by users accessing the Internet via this service. You are solely responsible for your management of your email service including, without limitation, detecting and protecting yourself from malicious emails that may contain harmful code (e.g., virus) or be designed to trick or otherwise take advantage of you in a fraudulent scheme (e.g., “phishing;” clicking on links to malicious sites; identity theft). Your sole remedy is to discontinue your use of the site and any related service.
Legal.com’s email service is structured to offer a higher degree of confidentiality than common email services used by the public such as Google (Gmail), Yahoo, etc. The email you send and receive is not (at least, not by servers utilized by Legal.com) read and interpreted for advertising purposes. Still, you understand and acknowledge that email (and any attachments) travels over the Internet, where like any other data it can be intercepted, monitored and analyzed. You specifically waive any expectation that Legal.com can assure you that any content you send or receive, which travels over the Internet, is private. You understand that, in all likelihood, your email to clients and others is being read, for advertising and other purposes, by the email server on their end. You understand that Legal.com’s email service offers you the option of encrypting email that you exchange with others, but that you must specifically designate such emails as encrypted. By default, unless designated as encrypted, email sent via Legal.com is transmitted as any other email.
In short, Legal.com’s email service offers a higher level of confidentiality, but must be properly used and cannot, under any circumstances, be considered to be absolutely private.
In addition the general indemnification provision contained in Section A, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Legal.com, its owners, subsidiaries, officers, employees and vendors from any third party claim, demand, or damage, including attorney’s fees and costs, arising out of your use of this service. Any fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise illegal activity other than those specifically prohibited in these Terms of Use may be grounds for termination of your email address(es), at Legal.com’s sole discretion.
