Attorney’s Handbook on Drinking Driving Defense

Attorney’s Handbook on Drinking Driving Defense

A defendant charged with a drinking-driving offense faces an assortment of criminal and administrative proceedings and penalties. This handbook is designed to assist defense counsel in handling misdemeanor drinking-driving cases and includes most of the resources needed to handle typical cases in any state with the exception of local drinking-driving statutes and the local administrative rules or regulations governing chemical testing. To assist in these areas, the appendices include a summary of drinking-driving statutes of each state with citations to the appropriate statutes in each state and a listing of the state agency, if any, that is responsible for issuing chemical testing rules and regulations. Chapters include preparation and pretrial aspects of drinking-driving cases, challenging chemical testing and handling the trial practice and trial advocacy of a drinking-driving case.
